After a long winter there’s no better way to ‘think spring’ than experiencing Milwaukee baseball in the Arizona sunshine.
Justus joined the WEAU 13 News Sports Department in August of 2010.
Justus was born in North Dakota and moved to Green Bay when he was ten. This gives him the unique quality of being a Vikings fan at one time and a Packers fan.
Justus’ television career began in college at UW-Stevens Point, where he was the sports director at the student television station.
His experience in college helped him land a job as a sports photographer at WLUK in Green Bay. After two years at WLUK, Justus moved north and in front of the camera as a Sports Anchor/Reporter at WLUC in Marquette, MI.
After leaving Marquette, Justus returned to his hometown of Green Bay, where he worked as a Sports Reporter/Anchor at WGBA. In his career, he has covered several seasons of Packers football and events such as the PGA Championship, Brewers baseball and NCAA sports.
When not covering sports, you can usually find Justus out on the golf course, though for as much time as he spends hacking up fairways, you would think he’d be a much better golfer.
Justus is married to his beautiful wife Kara, and they both look forward to joining WEAU 13 News viewers on this annual fan-tastic spring training tour.

Begin each day with a delicious continental breakfast. We depart for Milwaukee’s spring training facility in nearby Maryvale to watch the boys of summer swing for the fences against Los Angeles. We arrive early enough to watch batting practice prior to the game. The remainder of the day is free to pursue optional activities. The area’s ideal Southwest temperatures make it the perfect place for a round of golf or dip in the heated outdoor pool. Later we enjoy a special WEAU welcome dinner overlooking the city of Phoenix at Rustler’s Rooste, Arizona’s legendary cowboy steak house. Stroll over the indoor waterfall or take the slide into the dining room (stairs are an option); however the night’s events unfold, it is sure to be a memorable one! B,D
Today’s baseball adventure takes us back to Maryvale as we watch Milwaukee take on Texas. Enjoy lunch on your own at Maryvale Stadium before the game. This evening we visit Old Town Scottsdale, a popular shopping and dining area that evokes images of the Old West. B
After breakfast at our hotel we head to the first Major League Baseball spring training and player development facility in the country shared by two teams, Peoria Sports Complex. We will watch Milwaukee take on Seattle as we enjoy Arizona’s warm spring weather. This evening is free for independent activities. Phoenix offers so much for so many different interests. Take a stroll and discover some of the native wildlife or enjoy the many shops and boutiques. B
Enjoy a leisurely morning before we depart for Scottsdale to watch Milwaukee take on Colorado. Enjoy your surroundings as Salt River Fields is surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountain views in all of baseball. Tonight we replay the day’s sports highlights during our Holiday Vacations’ farewell dinner at Monti’s Casa Vieja. Steeped in a tradition of Southwestern hospitality that dates back more than 130 years, the popular restaurant makes its home in an authentic adobe hacienda that’s an icon of Arizona history. B,D
